This Opportunity

WSP is seeking a Mining Construction Quality Assurance Manager to monitor and oversee all onsite construction activities for a large EPCM mining project in our growing Earth & Environment team. While the job site is in Northern Nevada, this full-time onsite position can be based anywhere in the United States with preference in Nevada, Utah, Alaska, or near major mining projects. Travel per diem is available for those not local to the project.

The full-time Construction Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities for a mining construction project. The role ensures that all work performed by contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors complies with contractual requirements, project specifications, regulatory standards, industry best practices, and company quality management systems. The role requires close collaboration with WSP construction, engineering, and procurement teams, as well as the client, contractors, and other project stakeholders. The Quality Assurance Manager will help promote a strong quality culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and successful project delivery.

Your Impact

  • Oversee quality assurance activities for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process, and earthworks construction.
  • Verify that construction and installation activities meet approved drawings, specifications, standards, and procedures.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and testing laboratories.
  • Evaluate contractor quality programs and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable mining regulations, environmental permits, and client-specific quality requirements.
  • Maintain quality records and turnover documentation.
  • Review and approve inspection reports, test results, quality dossiers, and as-built documentation.
  • Track quality trends and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of WSP's mining EPCM practice.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.


Who You Are

Required Qualifications

We are seeking self-motivated professionals with:
  • 10+ years of relevant hands-on quality management experience in active mining settings, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked across both open pit and underground mine development projects.
  • Experience in large-scale heavy civil construction, process facilities, and/or mining infrastructure, such as haul roads, waste rock facilities, tailings systems, and associated support facilities and related environmental controls.
  • MSHA certification is required.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills with good working computer capabilities in MS Office products.
  • Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
  • Able to walk distances on uneven sites, climb small ladders, and work in an active construction environment both above and underground.
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
