Overview

The Military Relations Representative serves as a trusted ambassador between the Credit Union and the military community, building strong relationships with service members, families, command leadership, and community partners. Under administrative direction, the Military Relations Representative plays a key role in supporting our military community partners and Credit Union Members through financial education, public relations activities, and ongoing engagement activities to ensure quality service, improve retention of, and deepen Military memberships. This role supports Frontwave’s membership growth, financial readiness, and long-term member engagement through outreach, education, events and personalized support.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following non-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. All duties are to be performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies, procedures and business practices.

  • Implements business development and military relations plan to support the credit union goals.
  • Represents the Credit Union at military installations, command events, financial education sessions, and community activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with military leadership, base partners, military support organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Delivers financial education, onboarding support, and one-on-one guidance to help service members and families strengthen financial readiness.
  • Support membership growth and retention by connecting military members with relevant credit union products, services, and resources.
  • Coordinate and participate in outreach events, briefings, award ceremonies, welcome aboard sessions, and sponsorship activities, to include occasional after-hours schedule to support this relationship.
  • Serve as a resource to internal teams by providing insight into military cuilture, command priorities, and service member needs.
  • Track activities, outcomes, member engagement, and partnership opportunities to support reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Recommends, creates and implements programs and promotions that partner with military and related community organizations. Makes recommendations for sponsorship opportunities and event participation.
  • Researches, analyzes, and resolves complaints and problems received from key contacts which affect member service or the credit union’s image.
  • Provides monthly reports documenting results generated by activities, including budgetary expenditures.
  • Helps Branch Managers with respect to financial education sessions, and group liaison activities.
  • Functions effectively under intense time constraints and structured environment.
  • Ensures appropriate updates and/or exchange of information is communicated to management.
  • Presents a professional appearance suitable for a military audience.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:         

                                           

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Communications.
  • 2-5 years related experience in business development, sales, or community relations; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.   
  • Working knowledge of financial industry products, services and industry trends.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial institution services, products, procedures, and lending is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with comfort in performance metrics, operational and administrative processes.
  • Commitment to member service, community engagement, and employee engagement.
  • Prior experience working with the United States Marine Corps preferred.                 
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.  May be required to operate privately owned vehicle to and from assigned locations.

 

Salary Range: $70, 304 - $95,671.22
