PAY SCHEDULE: As per RASA Collective Bargaining Agreement and Experience (Step 1 $103,473-Step 4 $109,806)
EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 School Year
Qualifications:- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
- Valid Michigan Administrative Teaching Certificate.
- Master's degree in educational administration or combination administration and education.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience and/or administrative experience.
- Possess the necessary personal qualities of an effective administrator with demonstrated leadership, communication, and management skills.
- Ability to exhibit transformational leadership.
- Possess a demonstrated ability to collaborate and motivate people towards a common goal.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of middle school curriculum development, organization and program evaluation.
- Have a working knowledge of the role of technology regarding instructional programs and data management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, students, parents, and the community.
- Knowledge and experience working with Positive Behavior Support (PBIS).
- Experience should indicate an interest in administration as evidenced by proof of department chairing, committee chairing, demonstrated leadership in the development and implementation of the school improvement process, and non-stipend activities.
Responsibilities:- Maintains high visibility throughout the school day, engaging regularly with students, staff, and families. Actively participates in daily school operations, ensuring a positive school culture and climate.
- Serves as a role model and authoritative presence who is accessible, approachable, and responsive to the needs of the school community.
- Build trust through consistent, meaningful interactions and by being a present and active leader in classrooms, hallways, and school events.
- Effectively serve in the capacity of the principal when the principal is out of building.
- Lead in the development, supervision, and evaluation of instructional and support staff. Closely monitors teaching practices to ensure rigor and best practice occurs in all classrooms.
- Assist in the leadership and development of Professional Learning Communities with an emphasis on implementation of the data team cycle.
- Create and maintain the master schedule for the building.
- Oversee an effective crisis and emergency procedure plan for the building.
- Attend, supervise, and participate in school and district activities including but not limited to athletic events, extracurricular activities, and conferences.
- Promote an open, supportive, positive and safe school climate utilizing the tools of PBIS and restorative practices.
- Support and assist in the implementation of state standards, standards for college and career readiness, and district curriculum in all subjects.
- Support and promote the use of digital learning tools including digital portfolios, student information system, grade book, communication services, and assessment systems.
- Support and promote the analysis of historical and real-time data to drive educational decisions.
- Assist in supervising the development and implementation of the school improvement plan.
- Use data to complete a comprehensive needs assessment and maintain an accurate and up-to-date building profile.
- Assist in the implementation and delivery of in-depth and on-going professional development to support instructional strategies.
- Assist in the implementation of research-based instructional strategies for all grade levels including students with special needs.
- Coordinate with the Special Education department to ensure proper and effective implementation of special education services and complete evaluation of all special education personnel within the building.
- Communicate regularly with all stakeholders using a variety of media.
- Create and maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional workshops/meeting/conferences and reading professional journals/publications and discussing concerns and issues of mutual interest with others in the field.
