Salary: $85,000-$95,000
All positions assigned 30 or more hours weekly (typically 6 hours daily) are eligible for a full benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid leave. Job Summary:To assist in providing leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills that will promote the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.
Essential Duties:- Assist in the setting of priorities in the context of improving student achievement.
- Assists in articulating and promoting high expectation for teaching and student learning.
- Implementing our Leader in Me initiative, MTSS, student management.
- Implements communication strategies to inform stakeholders of progress towards the vision and mission of the district.
- Assists the principal in providing leadership for assessing, developing, and improving school environment and culture.
- Evaluate staff, as assigned, and provides direction for improving instruction.
- Assists in the development and support of professional development of staff to improve student learning.
- Develops and revises as needed or as directed by his/her supervisor his/her own professional development plan for continued improved performance.
- Assist the principal in effectively managing policies and procedures according to the School Board and Code of Iowa.
- Working with various building leadership teams.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders in the operation of the school.
- Addresses problems in a timely manner.
- Works to assure the school equipment and support systems operate safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Assists in the implementation of an effective program of student management and welfare.
- Promotes and supports parent/student/community involvement in the school.
- Shares leadership and decision making.
- Connects students and families to the health, human and social services they need to stay focused on learning.
- Demonstrates ethical, trustworthy, and professional behavior.
- Demonstrates values, beliefs, and attitudes that inspire others to higher levels of performance.

- Knows and supports the building/district school improvement plan and accurately interprets and reports progress on goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Must possess the qualifications and certification set by the Code of Iowa and the Iowa Department of Education in regard to Administrator and Evaluator License.
- Successful teaching experience.
- Demonstrates the ability to assist the principal in leading faculty and staff through first and second order change.
- Demonstrates the ability to assist the principal in modeling, implementing, monitoring and evaluating research based instructional strategies.
- Demonstrates the ability to assist the principal in collaborating with faculty, staff, parents and community to provide a quality education for all students, including those from diverse backgrounds and those with special needs.
- Demonstrates the ability to assist the principal in using data to drive instruction and professional development.
Knowledge and Skills:- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
- Able to make difficult decisions with a long-term impact on the district.
- Competent in research and information-gathering through technology.
- Demonstrates a broad knowledge of curriculum, assessment, professional development, school improvement, and student achievement strategies.
