Context & Environment

The role requires continuous coordination with departments such as Trading, Treasury, Credit, Operations, and Shipping. The jobholder is consistently in demand throughout the year to maintain seamless operations and effective risk management.

Activities

The jobholder reports to the Middle Office Manager and functionally to the Head of Market Risk (Global Products - Oil, LNG, Dry - and Europe Gas) based in Geneva.
  • Risk control and analysis for U.S. trading and marketing activities.
  • ATMI supports Total North America's refining supply and production, as well as international trading and marketing with TOTSA and third parties across Crude, Fuel Oil, Mid-Distillates, Gasoline, and Naphtha.
  • ATMI activities span pipelines, vessels, storage assets, and paper transactions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and report P&L for designated trading books with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Validate daily trades and modifications, especially those influencing exposure and valuation.
  • Track physical and paper positions to ensure pricing and risk remain within approved thresholds.
  • Reconcile hedging activity across NYMEX, ICE, swaps, and options.
  • Ensure adherence to trading limits and issue timely reports to management.
  • Provide analytical support and performance insights to traders and senior management.
  • Partner with operations to confirm the accuracy of risk and P&L data.
  • Conduct monthly close activities and reconcile financial outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Monitor and verify all daily physical and paper trading activities.
  • Ensure trading positions and risk exposures remain within authorized limits.
  • Report accurate daily profit and loss results.


Candidate Profile

  • Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required in Math, Finance, Energy, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong command of English, written and verbal.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas and analytical tools.
  • Programming skills in VBA and Python.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
