Location: On site in location Charlotte, NC

Summary

The Portfolio Manager assists in the assessment of risk and management of the Bank's loan portfolio by providing analytical and credit oversight and is responsible for the annual review, renewal, loan covenant compliance reviews and financial collection process within assigned loan portfolio. Partners with Relationship Managers to grow and develop a high quality and profitable loan portfolio.

Daily responsibilities include:
  • Leading the analysis, underwriting, origination, and portfolio management of loans in a growing commercial and corporate portfolio.
  • Utilizing loan structuring, risk identification, and risk mitigation skills
  • Understanding and application of the Bank's risk grading methodology and credit appetite
  • Managing complex relationships and ability to understand both C&I and income-producing real estate (CRE) borrowers.
  • Partnering with Relationship Managers to call on current or potential clients; understands and identifies needs for commercial products and services; develops lending proposals; identifies cross-sell opportunities.
  • Oversight of post-approval due diligence requirements and commercial loan documentation preparation.
  • Building and maintaining a portfolio mix of targeted high value and high potential clients, ensuring credit quality and portfolio servicing are maintained in an acceptable manner.
  • Partnering with junior members of the commercial team to delegate tasks related to the origination and servicing of the loan portfolio.
  • Providing feedback and guidance in order to develop the skills of these teammates.

Required experience, education and skills:
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial underwriting and portfolio management experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in work experience) required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents; performs simple to complex calculations; effectively researches, analyzes and evaluates information to make decisions, solve problems and achieve goals
  • Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both orally and in writing with senior executives, business unit management and staff, state and federal regulators and officials and significant business partners
  • Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills.
  • Strong computer skills required with the following programs: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and highly proficient skills with Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
