JOB DESCRIPTIONCritical Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our federal customer.
A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that run on the web.
The systems engineer is responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices. Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance.
Systems engineers are generally focused on the "big picture" of a project in addition to technical aspects and must consider details like cost, schedules and social issues that may be associated with a project.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience
- Ability to operate independently and manage workload across competing priorities in a small, fast-moving team
- Must be located within the vicinity of one of Network Operations Centers (Norfolk, San Diego, Pearl Harbor) to facilitate classified physical access.
- CompTIA Sec+ (or equivalent) Certification.
- Extensive experience with RHEL 8 and Automation.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
- IAT level II (CompTIA Sec+ or equivalent) Certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Large enterprise experience in a hybrid cloud environment, RHEL 6 and 7 experience, Scaled Agile methodology, Azure, VMware, Linux Certification, DOD STIG testing and implementation, Ansible Automation, Satellite, AAP, Scripting
LOCATION:
- Norfolk, VA.
- Preferred site is Norfolk but San Diego and Pearl Harbor are options as well.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. In addition, selected candidate must undergo background investigation (BI) and finger printing by the federal agency and successfully pass the preceding to qualify for the position. US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
CRITICAL SOLUTIONS PAY AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year. The salary range for this position represent the typical salary range for this job level and this does not guarantee a specific salary. Compensation is based upon multiple factors such as responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, and other requirements.
