Mid-Level QA Analyst, Automation & Manual

Trellis Energy is hiring a full-time Mid-Level QA Analyst to join our Trellis team. This is a great growth opportunity to help build enterprise-level software serving the energy market. As a member of a tight-knit and high-performing team, you will be integral to our product, client, and team successes. You will interact with all levels of the project teams including users, analysts, developers, architects, and management.

Responsibilities
  • Learn the Trellis software and business domain.
  • Read, understand, and lead testing of designated product modules.
  • Author, maintain, and automate test cases, test data, test scripts, test results, and test reports.
  • Perform hands-on testing of the application to meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test suites using Selenium and Playwright.
  • Leverage AI-powered testing tools and practices to improve test design, test generation, maintenance, defect detection, and overall testing efficiency.
  • Perform non-functional testing including usability, performance, scalability, and reliability testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in triage, service restoration, and root cause resolution meetings.
  • Continuously improve product quality and help minimize defect leakage into production.
  • Evaluate and recommend modern testing tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted quality engineering practices.


Required Skills
  • 5-10 years of experience in manual, functional, and automation testing of business-focused applications and systems.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of testing high-performing web-based applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with test automation using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, JUnit, QTP, and related testing tools.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and executing automated UI and end-to-end test suites.
  • Experience using AI-driven testing tools and practices (e.g., AI-assisted test creation, self-healing automation, intelligent test execution, test impact analysis, or similar modern QA technologies).
  • Basic programming skills required to develop and maintain automation scripts.
  • Deep understanding of software testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Ability to think creatively and work independently.
  • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict-management skills.
  • Strong work ethic, career goals, and demonstrated accomplishments.

Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming languages such as Java.
  • Experience with modern test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled quality engineering platforms and emerging QA technologies.
  • Good technical orientation including software development lifecycle knowledge and basic SQL.
  • Industry experience with Gas Transportation Systems and understanding of the midstream/downstream segments of the natural gas business.
