Job DescriptionAbout the RoleBravoCG is hiring a Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of our most technically demanding Microsoft 365 engagements: large-scale data migrations, records management and regulatory retention programs, and Microsoft Purview compliance and information governance rollouts. This role sits at the top of our technical delivery track - architecting solutions built on the AvePoint platform (Fly, Opus, and Policies & Insights) for state and local government, higher education, and enterprise clients, while mentoring delivery consultants and supporting pre-sales solutioning on new opportunities.
This is a senior, client-facing, individual-contributor role. You will own solution architecture end to end - from discovery through delivery - and serve as the final technical escalation point across active engagements in your practice areas.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Migration Engineering- Architect and lead complex migrations - tenant-to-tenant, file-share-to-cloud, and cross-platform (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Box, Azure Files, Google Workspace).
- Own end-to-end migration methodology: discovery and data inventory, source-to-target permission mapping, migration wave planning, pilot execution, cutover management, and post-migration validation.
- Design and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts and automation that extend tooling where native capabilities fall short.
- Serve as the final escalation point for technically complex migration issues across active client engagements.
Records Management & Regulatory Retention- Design records management programs to implement retention schedules, litigation holds, and records disposition aligned to client regulatory requirements (state retention schedules, public records law, HIPAA, FERPA, and similar).
- Lead ROT (redundant, obsolete, trivial) data analysis and remediation engagements to reduce client data footprint and risk exposure ahead of migration or governance rollout.
- Translate client legal and regulatory obligations into technical retention, disposition, and eDiscovery configurations.
Microsoft Purview Compliance & Information Governance- Architect Microsoft Purview solutions spanning sensitivity labeling, data loss prevention (DLP), retention policies, records management, and insider risk management.
- Design and implement AvePoint Policies & Insights configurations for external sharing governance, Microsoft 365 group/Teams lifecycle management, and permissions oversight.
- Partner with client security, compliance, and legal stakeholders to align technical controls with organizational policy and audit requirements.
Solution Architecture & Client Leadership- Lead technical discovery workshops and translate client business and regulatory requirements into scoped, deliverable solution architectures.
- Produce architecture diagrams, migration runbooks, governance frameworks, and other technical deliverables to a client-ready standard.
- Serve as the senior technical voice in steering-committee and executive status conversations.
Pre-Sales & Practice Development- Support the sales team on discovery calls, technical demonstrations, and solution scoping for new opportunities involving migration, governance, or compliance.
- Contribute to SOW development, level-of-effort estimation, and proposal technical content.
- Mentor delivery consultants progressing toward independent ownership of AvePoint Fly and governance engagements; contribute to internal training and certification programs.
Required Skills- 10+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online administration and architecture experience, including at least 5+ years focused on data migration.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Purview - DLP, sensitivity labels, and retention/records management.
- Experience designing records management or regulatory retention programs, including state/institutional retention schedules, eDiscovery, and litigation holds.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for migration automation and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and identity/access governance concepts.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills; comfortable leading executive and steering-committee conversations.
Desired Skills- Demonstrated, production experience with AvePoint Fly, AvePoint Opus, and AvePoint Policies & Insights in live client environments (not lab or training environments only).
- AvePoint Certified Technical Professional - Fly and/or Cloud Backup.
- Microsoft SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator) or a related Microsoft compliance/security certification (e.g., SC-400 Information Protection Administrator).
- Prior consulting or professional-services experience, particularly serving state/local government, higher education, or other regulated industries.
