JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Warehouse Inventory and Logistics for Transmission/Distribution/Generation, the Manager of Warehouse Operations is accountable for establishing the strategic priorities in executing demand plans, fulfillment, and logistics services across a large territory. This leader will have responsibilities for the Distribution Center within he designed territory and serve as the strategic leader in executing demand plans within their entire service territory. This includes the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant management of all storing, receiving, cycle counting, picking, and shipping of materials to support critical Utility Operations.

Responsible for the leadership of supply chain experts to manage critical supply chain and logistics functions, including material planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, project management, and contract management. Provides strategic direction to network Supervisor leadership and regional Storerooms. Leads the execution of essential supply chain and logistics functions, such as capacity planning, demand execution, fulfillment, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution.

Serves as a strategic partner, working closely with all customers to ensure acceptable service levels and emergency response capabilities. Develops and sustains mission-critical metrics to drive operational efficiencies and excellence within their territory.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety/Human Performance: Serves as the safety and compliance leader across the service territory, responsible for driving a culture of safety excellence throughout the service territory. Ensures the organization consistently prioritizes safety as the top priority, actively promoting and modeling strong safety behaviors. Leverages key tools, such as Close Call/Good Catch reporting, in addition to proactive field visits to review safety standards and behaviors. Monitors and influences suppliers to proactively identify and address any potential safety concerns, driving continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Demand Execution & Fulfillment: Responsible for setting clear goals, standardizing processes, and providing strategic oversight to the team to ensure the execution of demand plans for major projects across the territory. Provides strategic direction and oversight to territory-wide demand plan execution ensuring teams across the region are supported by aligning purchasing, inventory, labor, and logistics to ensure materials are available at the right time, quantity, and location. This leader will leverage expert inventory management practices to align demand planned inventory fulfillment across the territory. This leader will ensure regional alignment for demand execution based on demand plans and ensures material fulfillment across the territory. Systematically, establishes the vision across the territory for ensuring teams execute demand plans by regularly meeting with cross functional teams and driving alignment to ensure needs critical material needs are met.
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management: Responsible for the oversight and optimization of materials management and logistics operations within the territory. Establishes the strategic direction of managing materials, accountable for ensuring the availability of critical materials to fulfill project commitments and mitigate supply chain risk within the designated territory of responsibility. Strategically, monitors and gives direction across the territory in executing demand plans by ensuring the optimization of warehouses, laydown yards, and field logistics to guarantee material accessibility and operational efficiency. Oversees the accuracy and governance of multi-site inventory levels, maintaining proper accounting through meticulous inventory reconciliation and precise receiving/issuing of materials in accordance with the company's Inventory and Accounting Policies. Develops and enforces comprehensive inventory strategies to optimize the organization's end-to-end supply chain, ensuring the availability of critical materials. Partners with procurement and stakeholder teams to review forecasted demand, plan inventory replenishment, and minimize the risk of stockouts. Establishes and maintains effective inventory control procedures, including cycle counting, ABC analysis, and just-in-time (JIT) principles, to drive operations excellence.
  • Logistics Management:Purposefully, optimizes inbound and outbound logistics through effective management of transportation services and logistics scheduling in order to ensure the fulfillment of demand plans across the territory. Develop and implement logistics planning strategies, transportation scheduling and inventory positioning to support project commitments and mission critical services. Analyzes logistics data for trends and efficient cost avoidance. Ensures cost efficient utilization of logistics services across the region to meet planned demand and execute the fulfillment of material.
  • Budget and Cost Prudency: Responsible for the efficient management of the overall departmental budget and cost structure. Collaborate closely with the Finance team to provide data-driven insights into costs and the impact on the organization's financials. Utilize the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and supply chain management tools to gather, analyze, and interpret data, identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and the implementation of innovative supply chain strategies. Foster a culture of financial accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement within the supply chain function, empowering the team to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Customer Service: Proactively and routinely engages with all stakeholders to collaborate on demand forecasting and analyze material trends to aid in executing demand plans. Collaborating closely with the Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse, and Inventory Management teams, you will expertly manage complex transportation issues, enable the agile shifting of materials to meet evolving customer needs, and aid in developing cost-effective sourcing and inventory strategies. As a strategic leader, you will work closely with the Supply Chain leadership team to develop and execute departmental plans, driving expense reductions at each operating location and transparently reporting on key performance metrics. With clear intent and purpose, you will shape and drive the territories vision for demand execution and fulfillment-ensuring the seamless delivery of mission-critical projects and exceptional material readiness. Through proactive coordination with stakeholders, vendors, and logistics partners, you will guarantee that project requirements are met with precision, timeliness, and the highest standards of operational excellence. Regularly collaborating with stakeholders, the leader will ensure roadblocks are mitigated that may delay material readiness and demand execution across the region.
  • Incident Response: During storm restoration events, you will provide expertise which may require travel outside of your normal assigned region. Serving as the primary leader between the Distribution Center, Logistics, and vendors, you will work tirelessly to meet critical material needs with the highest degree of efficiency and agility, ensuring the timely and effective deployment of resources to support the organization's storm response efforts.
  • Partnership: This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional executive teams, including Engineering, Standards, Capital Projects, Power Delivery, Generation, Facilities, Finance, Accounting, Inventory Management, Project Management, Procurement, Category Management, Environmental, and Safety, to ensure ongoing operations and customer needs are consistently met. You will leverage data-driven insights, industry best practices, and innovative technologies to optimize warehouse operations, reduce costs, and position the organization for long-term growth and resilience. Responsible for driving calculated engagement with internal customers, procurement partners, and vendors to guarantee material readiness across the region.
  • People Leadership: As a strategic leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners in Human Resources, Organizational Development, and the business units to align the Supply Chain Talent Management Strategy with the organization's key priorities. Leveraging data-driven insights and industry best practices, you will implement innovative talent management initiatives, such as succession planning, career pathing, and performance management, to attract, retain, and develop a high-performing Supply Chain workforce.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Supply Chain degree or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

MS/MBA degree preferred. Professional supply chain/procurement certification preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position

10+ years of experience in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management. 3 years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent leadership experience. Related energy Supply Chain experience preferred.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
    • Advanced computer skills with a solid knowledge and understanding of Entergy's T&D Maximo, PBI, and MS Toolkit applications, especially MS ACCESS and Maximo table structure and query ability is preferred.

    • Outstanding communication, conflict management and change management skills.

    • Ability to make timely decisions that utilize available material and resources in a cost-effective manner.

    • Able to provide effective leadership in a team environment.

    • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.

    • Strong understanding of Maximo and the financial transactions that affect warehouse operations.

    • Some understanding of distribution materials and their application in the field.

    • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a staff of non-exempt and/or bargaining unit employees.

    • Familiar with OSHA regulations and reporting requirements. Some understanding of DOT regulations and the effects they have on logistics.

    • Demonstrated ability to energize workforce in regard to safety programs.

    • Some knowledge of bargaining unit contracts and the ability to interpret and follow the rules established by the contract.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

    • Strong knowledge of interfacing departments' processes and priorities.
