Position Summary:

As a key member of the APAC Leadership Team, the Sustainability Manager provides strategic direction and leadership across the APAC region on all sustainability matters, including certifications, governance, sales support, and manufacturing improvements. This role is accountable for driving a more sustainable business and fostering a culture where sustainability is integrated into daily operations.

Key Accountabilities:

Sustainability Program Management

  • Support and guide regional managers on new sustainability guidelines and how to implement them.
  • Performance regulatory assessment on all businesses in the APAC region


Compliance and Reporting

  • Manage all compliance and reporting of the APAC region.
  • Manage sustainability portals (ie SEDEX, APCO)
  • Lead forestry certification for the APAC region
  • Audit all regions within APAC for their forestry certification compliance.


Sales Support

  • Influence and lead stakeholders in all countries of the APAC region where Smurfit Westrock has business to implement and follow sustainability practices.
  • Create presentation material to support sales team in communicating sustainability to customers.
  • Coach sales team on sustainability guidelines and governance.
  • Create LCA with support from corporate office.


Operational Support

  • Coach plant managers to implement solutions which will improve sustainability of our manufacturing processes.
  • Lead registry of actions within the APAC region that will improve business sustainability.
  • Support measurement of key sustainability metrics such as CO2 emissions, paper waste.


People Leadership

  • Influence and lead stakeholders in all countries of the APAC region where Smurfit Westrock has business to implement and follow sustainability practices.
