Your Impact
The Mgr-Quality Assurance Engineering leads a team of QA Engineers dedicated to ensuring the quality and performance of Lowe's Private Brands and select National Brands. This role provides strategic QA leadership across assigned product categories, overseeing workstreams for new item introductions and enforcing compliance with Lowe's QA testing programs through advanced technology frameworks and governance. The Mgr-Quality Assurance Engineering partners closely with Global QA, Global Merchandising, internal testing teams, third-party labs, and vendor partners to deliver on Lowe's QA program requirements. In addition to driving supplier quality oversight and continuous improvement initiatives, this role serves as a subject matter expert, coaching team members and shaping best practices in QA engineering processes and product standards. The Manager also ensures the effective and efficient use of internal testing resources and third-party labs, fostering cost optimization while maintaining the highest quality outcomes.

What You Will Do
  • Provide QA leadership for strategic Global Merchandising product development projects, Product Line Reviews, and both private and national brand initiatives.
  • Oversee product and quality engineering activities across assigned categories, supporting new product launches, existing product enhancements, and vendor relationships.
  • Establish methods for assessing project scope through critical thinking and stakeholder input, recommending the most effective QA processes such as stage-gate reviews, APQP workbooks, and related documentation.
  • Ensure clear communication, disciplined follow-through, and on-time completion of project plans. Hold the QA Engineering team accountable for deliverables through consistent oversight and progress reviews.
  • Guide team members toward optimal solutions, modeling best practices that build alignment and support effective decision-making.
  • Drive awareness and alignment around strategic initiatives and key decisions to ensure organizational buy-in and impact.
  • Partner with QA Systems & Process and Lowe's Tech to develop tools and systems that increase effectiveness and efficiency. Establish procedures to manage projects, testing programs, and supplier quality.
  • Provide guidance for activities such as new item tracking, specification and protocol testing, claims validation, and data analysis to deliver actionable insights.
  • Direct the prioritization of customer return reviews to maximize impact, and drive adoption of product change requests and corrective action planning with internal teams and vendors.
  • Identify and champion forward-looking initiatives to streamline QA processes and ensure alignment with global QA teams.
  • Oversee the creation of Lowe's Private Brand performance specifications, including test planning, benchmarking, product testing, and implementation of performance standards.
  • Implement governance and reporting mechanisms to ensure vendor compliance with Lowe's QA testing requirements.
  • Leverage systems, communication tools, and training resources to support vendor testing activities, with a focus on Domestic Private Brand items.
  • Review failed test reports, align stakeholders on resolution, and drive revisions to performance specifications as needed.
  • Develop expertise in Lowe's Private Brand Packaging approval process to ensure QA Engineering provides appropriate support and escalation.
  • Evaluate vendor data and third-party reports to validate packaging claims for Lowe's Private Brands.
  • Deliver expert recommendations to Packaging and Legal teams regarding claim validity, leveraging industry knowledge and testing expertise.
  • Establish frameworks, data, and processes to guide QA Engineers in improving customer satisfaction, product quality, and performance using VOC data and QA metrics.
  • Provide actionable insights and quality support to Merchandising, PDM, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with vendors and enterprise teams to prioritize corrective actions based on risk and business impact.
  • Coach the team on best practices for executing containment and product service projects (e.g., stop sales, DC holds, reworks), ensuring effective communication with QA leadership and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders to drive visibility, alignment, and collaboration across QA and Merchandising workstreams.
  • Foster effective partnerships with international QA teams (Shanghai, India, Vietnam), cross-functional enterprise groups, and external vendors and labs to achieve shared quality goals.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of design, manufacturing, engineering, and testing principles across assigned categories.
  • Represent Lowe's in trade-specific committees and maintain relevant professional memberships and certifications.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top QA talent, building a high-performing team aligned with Lowe's business goals and values.
  • Promote a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment that supports innovation, accountability, and growth.
  • Hold QA Engineers accountable for performance while supporting their career development and alignment with Lowe's core behaviors and leadership expectations.
  • Provide meaningful, timely feedback and coaching to increase visibility into performance impact and development opportunities.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree Engineering, technical sciences or other related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 5 Years in a leadership role over Product Engineering and Product Development functions
  • 7 years working with a broad range of materials and manufacturing processes
  • 3 Years Co-creating with designers and bringing product to production with overseas suppliers and engineers
  • 3 Years Managing complex programs
  • Experience in creative problem solving and working cross-functionally with design and manufacturing to achieve cost targets, desired design intent and project deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience leading and/or facilitating projects
  • Technical report writing skills, effective oral presentation skills, ability to negotiate.
  • Excellent aptitude in mechanical, electrical, or other engineering disciplines.


Preferred Skills/Education
  • Master's degree Engineering, technical sciences or other related field
  • Experience in testing consumer products in a laboratory environment.
  • Retail operations experience
