A Day In The LifeThe Manager of Process Engineering is a hands-on leader responsible for driving operational excellence across Supply Chain Operations at the VPC. Under the direction of the Sr. Process Engineering Manager, this role leads a team of Engineering Technicians and oversees production processes to ensure alignment with site goals and performance standards. The Manager supports continuous improvement initiatives and provides leadership to enhance operational performance and achieve the site's long-term objectives.
As a Mgr, Process Engineering you will:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Process Engineering team by fostering accountability, recognition, professional growth, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the VPC and/or PDC to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and performance.
- Develop, maintain, and control production processes to support operational excellence.
- Build effective communication with line and staff members to monitor progress, share updates, and report key initiatives.
- Present process improvement analyses and recommendations to the Sr. Process Engineering Manager to support data-driven decisions.
- Stay current on emerging vehicle manufacturing technologies and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain job instructions, ODS, accessory installation times, process standards, facility planning documentation, and vehicle flow documentation.
- Create and implement strategic plans, standard data charts, and work instructions to drive process consistency.
- Train VPC associates on continuous improvement principles and practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize new accessory launches for high-volume manufacturing.
- Oversee interviewing, hiring, training, work assignments, performance management, recognition, discipline, and conflict resolution.
- Sponsor and support process improvement teams while collaborating on cross-functional initiatives.
What We Need From You- Bachelor's Degree Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Req or
- 5-7 years Minimum of 5-7 years of operations experience, including but not limited to auditing, operations analysis, leading teams, project management and successful implementation of performance enhancement initiatives Preferred
- 4-6 years 4-6 years of experience supervising exempt level associates (strongly preferred) Preferred
- Ability to apply strong business and operational insight to improve performance.
