Department: Pharmacy - Administration

Position is located: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40.00

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Summary:

Provides direction and leadership for pharmacy services at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, overseeing daily operations, clinical services, and support services with the aid of a pharmacy supervisor. Leads and manages site and system-wide pharmacy projects focused on quality improvement, technology optimization, and process standardization. Co-leads a Pharmacy Council subcommittee and works collaboratively with system Directors of Pharmacy and cross-functional stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain progressive, best-practice pharmacy services. Responsible for staff development, performance management, mentoring, and career advancement of direct reports and pharmacy team members at the site and across the system. Supports system-wide scheduling coordination and serves as a technology resource for platforms including Cerner and Omnicell. Assists in the development of system policies, protocols, and procedures related to medication management and other pharmacy initiatives. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations for pharmacy services including Board of Pharmacy State licensure, Medicare COP, OSHA, and Joint Commission Standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Pharmacy project management for site and system wide quality, technology, and process improvements.
  • Workforce oversight of EMMC pharmacy services including daily operations in key clinical and support services.
  • Oversight of staff development and performance management.
  • Technology support & system optimization (clinical technology; Cerner, and related platforms).
  • Assists in development of system policies, protocols, and procedures in areas of medication management and other pharmacy initiatives.
  • Co-lead pharmacy council subcommittee.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations for pharmacy services including Board of Pharmacy State licensure, Medicare COP, OSHA, and Joint Commission Standards.
  • Other Duties as assigned (clinical/operational on-call, etc)

Other Information:

  • Five years relevant work experience in Hospital Pharmacy, direct pharmacy leadership experience preferred.
