Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:- Support the Tactical Solutions business unit within BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) sector as a Business Area Lead for high performance air platforms with a focus on future unmanned markets. This includes identifying, pursuing, developing, leading, and winning business opportunities with various government organizations and prime defense contractors.
- Coordinate and establish contacts with key US Government and industry customers and stakeholders.
- Build relationships with customers through demonstrated operational technical expertise.
- Work across all Tactical Solutions Business Area team members, customers, and end users to find solutions to today's needs and help develop concepts for next generation platforms.
- Develop and communicate messages, marketing, competition assessments, and customer insights to pursuit teams and leadership based on our core values of integrity, honesty, transparency, and collaboration.
- Assess market potential for existing markets and develop investment plans to penetrate new or lateral markets. Establish industry partnerships necessary to effectively compete in Tactical Solutions markets.
- Propose and collaborate with the Chief Technologist on innovative research & development projects. Coordinate technology development with other business areas as appropriate.
- Work with our prime and government customers to translate technical performance for Tactical Solutions systems into recommended Concepts of Employment to provide the maximum tactical advantage to our warfighters.
- Guide the development and communication of market strategy, including pursuit analysis, bidding strategies, customer assessments, technical presentations, win themes, key points, and pricing.
- Coordinate all proposal activities, prepare various inputs, and oversee final proposal preparation and delivery. Oversee study efforts having the potential to evolve into new technical or business opportunities.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Short-Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Skills and Education- BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
- Experience with US Government Requirements / Planning Process.
- Influencing, communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position.
- Experienced presentation skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision making and technical audiences.
- Demonstrated proposal leadership experience, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments.

Preferred Skills and Education- A current, active Top Secret security clearance.
- Operational Experience of U.S. 4th / 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft or autonomous combat platforms
- Proposal management and business capture experience is preferred.
- Programmatic background within classified program environments for government or industry.
- Experience in leading teams and new business capture activities.
- Solid technical writing skills.
