Job DescriptionAs the Energy & Sustainability Manager, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership for a 10-person team including both energy and sustainability engineers while working closely with Facilities managers, Safety, Health, and Environment leads and multiple other functions within our sector. You will be responsible for driving the direction of our resource reduction program with the goal of improving environmental performance and operational resiliency while also taking cost out of the business.
Primary Duties, Responsibilities & Attributes:
Experience & Competencies:
- Proven experience in Energy & Sustainability Management, with a demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in high-stakes environments.
- Ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders to "make the case" using strong presentation skills.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in capital planning and budget management.
- Expertise in managing multi-disciplinary teams and external supplier relationships.
- Experience in leading environmental reporting, benchmarking, and carbon footprint/ Greenhouse Gas management.
- Knowledge in the latest aspects of energy efficient and green building design including experience with Building Automation Systems and all phases of building commissioning
Financial & Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute multi-year capital plans and annual expense budgets.
- Lead incentive collection program in coordination with external utility providers.
- Foster long term energy procurement strategy with a focus on cost, resiliency, and renewable energy.
- Drive cost savings and productivity gains through proactive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Team Development & Management
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a diverse team of exempt personnel across the country.
- Oversee departmental staffing needs, training, and professional development to ensure the team remains agile and responsive to business requirements.
- Develop long-term strategy for team growth.
- Partner with Site Executives, Lab Managers, Factory leads and functional leads in SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental), Security, IT, and Finance to support core business needs.
Collaborate with Project Managers on plant rearrangements, equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades to ensure projects meet operational standards

Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. Degree fields may include Energy Management, Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability Management, Sustainability Studies, Environmental Studies, or Environmental Science. Credentials through organizations such as USGBC LEED, AEE, or IFMA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Advanced presentation skills.
Preferred Skills and Education- Association of Energy Engineers trainings such as Certified Energy Manager. Experience with Building Automation Systems.
- Experience with energy effciency and sustainable building design.
- Technical knowledge of ISO standards including 14001 and 50001.
