The Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS) business area is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead the Fort Wayne Production Quality team. This manager will lead our Quality Engineers on commercial and military production as well as aftermarket in Fort Wayne, IN. In this role, you will work closely with plant leadership to provide proactive, value-added solutions, and deliver for internal & external customers. This position will be a "hands-on" leader who turns strategy into everyday achievements. You will drive continuous-improvement initiatives, and ensure that every product, and process meets the standards of our customers and regulators.

The successful candidate:
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills to facilitate effective communication at all levels of the organization and across customers and partner communities
  • Consult, collaborate, and work as a liaison with other departments and internal/external customers to provide the support required to successfully evaluate and bring closure to any quality issues
  • Is a visible, influential leader who takes a collaborative approach with others and comes across as approachable; can diffuse high-tension situations effectively
  • Can form a highly capable quality assurance staff by recruiting, organizing and developing team members
  • Take responsibility for resolving technical challenges and ensuring successful tactical execution across the team
  • Relates well with individuals at all levels of the organization, builds effective relationships within the factory and across customer base

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to ensure alignment with quality policy, strategic objectives and organization goals that drive world class quality
  • Ensure products conform to established company and regulatory performance and quality standards
  • Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for discrepancies - using proven RCCA techniques and driving sustainable preventive improvements.
  • Translate the business area quality strategy into detailed work plans, timelines, and KPI dashboards
  • Prepares executive level quality performance presentations (KPI analysis, customer scorecards, audit readiness, etc.) for senior leadership meetings
  • Champions a culture of quality and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Provide risk-assessment expertise (APQP, PFMEA, PPAP) to product-development and manufacturing teams
  • Coach and develop quality team members (engineers, technicians, analysts) to build capabilities aligned with the quality strategy, conduct performance reviews and support employee development
  • Maintain and enhance quality data platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Minitab) to enable rapid, data-driven decision making
  • Generate and distribute weekly quality metrics (defect rates, yield, audit findings, quality scorecards) to stakeholders
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to set quality objectives, budgets, and resource plans
  • Manage the full CAPA lifecycle: intake, root-cause analysis, corrective-action implementation, verification, and effectiveness review ensuring timely root-cause analysis and resolution


Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance/management within a regulated industry (aerospace, defense, medical)
  • Strong technical knowledge of quality science tools and methodologies, including statistical process control, APQP (PFMEA, Control Plans), and robust root cause analysis
  • Strong knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 145, and FAA 14-CFR Part 21
  • Demonstrated success managing internal audits, external regulatory audits, and CAPA processes
  • Strong and demonstrated communication skills (written, verbal, visual) and interpersonal skills (listening and communicating within group working environment).
  • Organizational skills - can marshal resources to get things done, orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal, use matrixed resources effectively and efficiently, and arrange information in a useful manner.


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's in an Engineering or technical field
  • Master's degree
  • Defense Industry preferred with strong knowledge/experience with AS9100/AS9102/AS9145
  • Experience with additional quality standards such as AS13100 or customer -specific OEM requirements
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or Black Belt Certified
  • ASQ Certification
