This is a first shift position working a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off!
This role leads the New Product Introduction teams and factories for C4ISR Operations. Our NPI leader works hand in hand with Production Factory Leadership, Engineering Technology Development teams (Fast Labs, Engineering IRADs), Engineering Hardware Capability Groups (Producibility Engineering), Operations Technical Directors, and Business Area Chief Engineers on emerging programs to ensure product manufacturability.
As the New Product Introduction Lead, you will be responsible for the Pilot Line Technical Operations for the C4ISR Factories as well as the New Product Engineers working to provide design feedback to the programs to make new products that will yield better product and meet our customer's cost targets. These teams consist of the engineers who develop the manufacturing processes for new hardware transitioning from development to production as well as the New Product Introduction engineers responsible for ensuring the designs coming from the programs to the factory can meet production rates and yields on follow on programs.
You will be responsible for understanding the strategy and objectives of the Operations function and the C4ISR business area and ensuring that new products are aligned with those strategies and roadmaps. You will be responsible for aligning our Engineering Technology Roadmaps to our Operations Technology roadmap to ensure we are ready to manufacture new products. Additionally, your team will execute many DOEs for process and product improvements, prototypes and IRADs for new or improved manufacturing techniques as well as implement Automation where possible.
As the team leader you must provide technical and analytical guidance to the NPI team and to the program teams with transitioning products. Active participation in technical reviews, architecture reviews and pursuit concepts are required. You will champion and grow C4ISR Transition to Production (TTP) best practices and processes, collaborating across functions and business areas as required. You will work closely with the ES Pre-Production Global Process Owner to ensure alignment to the sector's TTP policies and strategies.
Required Skills and Education
Experience: 8-12+ Years experience working in New Product Introduction and Development programs within a manufacturing environment.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or similar technical field.
Preferred Skills and Education
Leadership experience of leading cross functional technical teams to solve manufacturing problems.
Proven experience to manage people and help develop junior team members to improve upon the team.
