Description

Mental health and wellbeing along with substance abuse challenges are by nature unpredictable, complex, frequently chronic and emergent in nature. The Manager II Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is responsible for helping lead critical initiatives of Union Pacific's EAP. The EAP team assists with helping support the safe and efficient operations of the railroad through program initiatives and interactions helping with highly sensitive issues such as substance abuse, mental health and wellbeing, employee suicide, employee fatalities at work and home and employee loss of employment due to failed drug or alcohol tests. Primary responsibilities of this position include EAP case management, critical incident oversight, and continuous improvement case management initiatives for employees who are considered in the status of conditions of employment governed by FRA guidelines and Union Pacific's medical guidelines. These functions are essential in contributing to the safety and health of the workforce and the public. The EAP team provides on-call support services 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Accountabilities

  • Apply clinical judgement with case management and return to work of substance abuse cases as mandated by licensure and applicable code of ethics.
  • Assist with client emergency situations, including short-term problem resolution services, where appropriate, and refer clients for ongoing intervention as needed.
  • Consult with management and labor representatives to resolve employee job performance or behavioral concerns and recommend solutions to implement.
  • Help coordinate and provide critical incident support and arrange professional services and response when needed, including debriefings and psychiatric trauma care.
  • Implement and maintain FRA required regulations for drug and alcohol.
  • Rotate with team to provide on-call support services 24 hours a day 365 days a year regarding emergent employee needs.
  • Manage/lead EAP special projects-with Tech, Drug & Alcohol, Health & Medical Services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external entities; Drug and alcohol testing, Labor Relations, operating managers, union reps, Health and Medical, FRA, RRB, National Health Welfare, and insurance providers.


Qualifications - Required

  • A Master of Psychology, Human Development, Social Work, Counseling or closely related degree.
  • Fully Licensed behavioral health professional, including Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent independent clinical license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinically licensed work experience in the behavioral health field.

The final salary of the selected candidate for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training. This position also includes additional compensation and benefits offered by Union Pacific.

This is a pay-for-performance program which administers annual salary adjustments, cash incentive bonuses and stock equity as determined by individual performance, company performance and program guidelines.
