Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Documentation & Document Control Manager to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electronic documentation and ordnance document scheduling, technical content, and costs, while advising management on the status of work in progress, collaborative technical content requirements, and potential production impacts. This position is responsible for managing electronic documentation and ordnance document scheduling, technical content, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of technical content. Status work in progress to customer and management advising potential production impacts. Develop and maintain technical content, collaborating with internal and external organizations to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution. Measure, report, and develop corrective actions to maintain KPI's at acceptable levels. Perform all aspects of Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, driven by business needs and company strategies and objectives. Analyze existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement lean methodologies to streamline workflows, reduce cycle time, and enhance productivity. Utilize tools such as Kaizen events and Lean Six-Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements. Help develop and sustain a culture of continuous improvement using various configuration management tools leveraging benchmarked Livelink workflows to achieve ISO [redacted] quality standards. Candidate is expected to travel within and outside the Continental United States (approximately 20%).
Required Skills and EducationEducation and years years of related/relevnat work experience required: Bachelor's Degree in any Science, or Computer and Information Technology, or Engineering with six years relevant work experience or equivalent education and years of related/relevant work experience.
- Planning experience in a production environment using MS Project
- Knowledge and experience implementing publishing tools Adobe FrameMaker, PTC Arbortext, Oxygen XML Author, and Paligo across functions
- Knowledge and experience implementing S1000D, and MIL-STD 38784 Revision C requirements
- Manage project area performance, including cost, schedule, and technical metrics, to ensure delivery of high-quality products and achieve key performance objectives
- Ability to drive team to implement solutions to complex problems
- Results oriented, ability to follow through on tasks, experience driving senior level decision making
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies related to transitioning paper-based documentation to electronic format
- Strong presentation skills, with experience preparing and delivering meeting presentations

- Model-based Systems Engineering knowledge and/or experience
- Knowledge and experience using the Vulcan/Arbortext authoring tool creating paper and electronic documents
- Knowledge and experiencing converting paper-based manuals to electronic Technical Information Database (TIDB) format
