Job Description:DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, Employee Relations/Labor Relations, located in Warsaw, Indiana.
The Manager, Employee Relations/Labor Relations serves as a trusted subject matter expert in Employee Relations (ER) and Labor Relations (LR), supporting DePuy Synthes' U.S. operations with compliant, consistent, and business-focused guidance. This role partners closely with HR, Legal, and site leadership to manage complex employee relations matters, interpret and apply U.S. labor laws, and proactively mitigate risk. Based in Warsaw, Indiana, this role plays a critical part in maintaining positive labor relations, enabling operational continuity, and supporting a strong and respectful workplace culture within a regulated MedTech manufacturing environment. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as employee relations and labor relations subject-matter expert, providing guidance to HR and business leaders on policy interpretation and case management.
- Advise and support employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance-related matters.
- Interpret and apply U.S. federal, state, and local labor and employment laws, ensuring compliant and consistent practices.
- Partner with HR and Legal to manage labor-related claims, disputes, and interactions with external agencies when required.
- Support labor relations activities in manufacturing or site-based environments, including union-related matters where applicable.
- Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of labor relations policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Assess labor relations trends and risks, providing insights and recommendations to prevent issues proactively.
- Support organizational change initiatives (e.g., restructures, workforce changes) by providing labor-relations guidance and risk assessments.
- Deliver training and coaching to HR and leaders on labor relations, investigations, and employee relations best practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in labor relations, employee relations, HR, or related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. labor and employment laws, including experience supporting manufacturing or site-based operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations investigations and cases.
- Proven ability to assess risk and provide practical, business-oriented recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder-management, influencing, and communication skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting unionized environments and labor negotiations.
- Background in a regulated industry such as MedTech, Pharma, or Manufacturing.
- Experience working in a global or matrixed organization.
- Experience supporting workforce transformation, restructures, or site-level change initiatives.
Other:
- Language: Fluent English required.
- Travel: Up to ~20%, primarily domestic.
- Certifications: HR, labor relations, or legal certifications preferred but not required.
- Union: Will support union-represented populations depending on site requirements.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :Total Base Pay Range 102,000.00 - 204,000.00 USD Annual
