SUMMARY

Ajax Building Company is seeking an MEP Project Manager to support the planning and execution of complex mission critical (data center) construction projects. In this role, you will lead the coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes, partnering closely with the overall Project Manager, field leadership, and trade partners.

This position is responsible for driving performance across MEP systems to ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and commissioning requirements. You will play a critical role in managing subcontractors, supporting technical coordination, and ensuring successful turnover of highly complex building systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support overall project execution with a primary focus on MEP systems, including coordination, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Manage MEP subcontractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, schedule milestones, and quality expectations.
  • Partner with the Project Manager and Superintendent to integrate MEP scopes into the master project schedule and sequencing plan.
  • Lead MEP coordination efforts with design teams, consultants, and trade partners, including participation in BIM/VDC coordination.
  • Review and manage MEP shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and procurement logs to ensure timely delivery of critical systems and equipment.
  • Track and manage MEP-related costs, change orders, and budget impacts, working closely with project leadership to maintain financial performance.
  • Support commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing, issue resolution, and turnover documentation.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating risks related to MEP systems, including long-lead equipment, constructability challenges, and system integration.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management with a strong focus on MEP scopes.
  • Experience supporting mission critical / data center projects strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including coordination and commissioning processes.
  • Experience working with MEP subcontractors, equipment procurement, and technical documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively within a team-based project environment.
