About this Role:We are seeking an experienced MEP Owner's Representative to support construction-phase services for a major research-intensive higher-education building program in
New Haven, CT. This onsite, full-time role provides design review and problem-solving support on behalf of the owner, covering submittal review, RFI evaluation, coordination-model and clash-detection review, and construction oversight through commissioning and closeout.
Key Responsibilities:- Review submittals and shop drawings for MEP systems
- Evaluate and respond to RFIs related to MEP design and coordination
- Review coordination models and perform clash-detection analysis in Revit and Navisworks
- Support value engineering and constructability review efforts
- Review equipment placement for compliance with design intent and owner requirements
- Validate change orders related to MEP scope
- Support commissioning activities through project closeout
Qualifications/Requirements:- 15+ years of MEP experience on research-intensive higher-education or national-laboratory facilities, serving as an owner's design reviewer
- Experience with MEP systems for cleanroom/nanofabrication suites, cryogenic and quantum laboratories, and EMI- and vibration-sensitive imaging environments
- Experience with central plant infrastructure, including geothermal and heat-recovery systems, electrified thermal utilities, and medium-voltage distribution
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE in Connecticut, or NCEES-transferable) preferred but not required
- Sustainability experience is a plus
Working Hours- Onsite, full-time position (40 hours/week, exempt)
- Must be able to pass a background check and, where applicable, a drug screening in accordance with client and project requirements
