As a MEP Operations Assistant working in the Building and Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you manage several activities and deadlines to gain a clearer picture of client, team and project needs. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will make a significant impact on our projects by developing a talented team and staying closely engaged with individual projects
What you will do
• Overall success of the MEP execution on the assigned projects.
• Execute the role of MEP Operations Assistant by:
a. Act proactively to predict and mitigate risks.
b. Assisting with document control, meeting minutes, MEP quality items
c. Assisting with managing the MEP scopes and trade partners.
d. Managing relationships to ensure trust and long-term relationships.
e. Managing the document process and assisting with the review and approval of MEP shop drawings.
f. Conduct inspections of the MEP work and create reports.
g. Inspecting MEP equipment arrivals and providing reports.
h. Managing and tracking MEP deficiencies.
i. Supporting the project team in the preparation and validation of construction schedules and commissioning, with technical reviews of specialty shop drawings.
• Monitoring the construction progress to ensure compliance with the schedule, identify issues that will affect project commissioning.
• Being on the site to assist with the management of the day to day MEP operations and supporting of the site staff.
• Ensuring quality and commissioning plans from our MEP trade partners are executed.
• Assisting with driving the commissioning process, including the management of the third party Cx agent on site.
• Participating in meetings as required by the MEP Operations Leads or PM.
This role could be for you if you have
• 5+ years of mechanical and electrical experience in the construction industry.
• A University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience.
• A proven track record of mechanical and electrical coordination and team collaboration.
