Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the Division Director of Residential Mental Health (Men),
  • Works with subordinate staff to ensure the provision of mental health services to the residential mental health inmate population assigned.
  • Ensures facilitation of and participates in treatment team and regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of all crisis intervention activities and are provided in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensures after hours coverage for crisis intervention and participates in on call rotation.
  • Provides and documents clinical supervision to subordinate QMHP's, Mental Health Officer's, and administrative staff.
  • Ensures clinical services are provided in accordance with SCDC policy.
  • Facilitates the interview and selection process on the job training of mental Health tasks.
  • Maintains accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
  • A master's degree in clinical social work, counseling, or related degree and four (4) years of experience in counseling.
  • Must be licensed as an LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT or higher

OR
  • Have comparable out of state licensure with eligibility for SCLLR license which must be obtained within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prefer LPC, LPC-S, LISW-CP, LISW-CP-S, LMFT, or LMFT-S license.
