  • Measure and analyze serial pieces to maintain quality standards.

What you'll do

The Component Center within Scout includes experts in statistical process control, data analysis, functional analysis, programming, and tactile & optical measurement. This role is specifically designed to evaluate component deviations ensuring the quality and precision of vehicle body assembly and surface quality, focusing on precise fit, form, function and visual appearance.

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
  • Independently evaluate dimensional and assembly-related deviations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions utilizing established quality and manufacturing principles.
  • Investigate atypical geometric and fitment conditions occurring during prototype, pre-series, and series production builds and determine appropriate containment or corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Product Engineering, and Dimensional Engineering teams to resolve vehicle geometry and dimensional quality concerns.
  • The Meisterbock and Cubing Specialist is to evaluate PMP and FMK deviations
  • Geometrical homologation of the in-house built components
  • Geometrical matching of in-house built parts with supplier parts
  • Analysis of geometrical quality issues from pre-series until end of production
  • Measurement and analysis of serial pieces to guarantee quality level and in case of deviations to define measures
  • Reference body mounting to RPS
  • Generate reports in PiWeb and reports out cross-functionally

Location & Travel Expectations:
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel required, approximately 5-10% of the time. Valid driver's license required. Passport preferred but not required upon hire.

  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control.

  • Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.
  • Ability to assemble vehicle components with precision to RPS coordinates.
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • CMM and OMM software proficiency
  • Measurement equipment and software maintenance
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong initiative to develop professionally.

Optional/suggestions:
  • Previous experience in the evaluating part and assembly geometry.
  • Has knowledge and experience of automotive assemble.
  • Familiarity with manual and automated measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with measurement database software
  • Soft skills: Public speaking, cross-functional collaboration
  • Is a self-starter. Can take initiative, work independently and find solutions without constant supervision.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
