This is a sales and acquisition role in brokerage. 80-90% of your time will be spent on proactive cold calling, outbound outreach, and building your own portfolio.
The RoleYou build a client book through outbound sales. You originate counterparties and work with the desk to get business executed.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Outbound origination. Cold call, follow up, and turn new contacts into active counterparties across North America.
- Portfolio building. Build and maintain relationships with corporates, utilities, project developers, and other buyers and sellers.
- Deal support. Bring opportunities to the desk, support quoting and negotiation, and help get trades over the line in RECs, carbon, RNG, and related products.
- Revenue growth. Grow revenue through call volume, disciplined follow-up, and practical deal structuring.
- Market awareness. Learn the drivers of compliance and voluntary markets so your outreach is credible.
- Internal coordination. Work with analysts, operations, and risk/KYC so clients can be onboarded and trades can settle.
Job Requirements- You are a salesperson first. You work a call list every day and open doors without inbound leads.
- About 2 years of experience in sales, trading, or brokerage. Experience in environmental commodities (RECs, carbon, fuels, RNG) is a plus, not a must.
- Fluent English.
- Experience in environmental markets.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast, deal-driven brokerage environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- This role is based in New York. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
