Our Team, Your Impact

The Medical Scientific Director serves as a scientific and strategic partner within Teva's Medical Affairs organization, supporting both early-stage and mature assets, including- but not only- respiratory therapies (e.g., ICS/SABA combinations) and neurology products (e.g., AJOVY). This role ensures the scientific and clinical value of Teva's portfolio is fully realized by shaping medical strategy, generating and communicating evidence, and engaging with healthcare professionals and external experts

Travel Requirements: Approximately 30% to conferences and meetings.

This role can be hybrid in our Parsippany, NJ or Westchester, PA office

How You'll Spend Your Day

External Engagement & Scientific Leadership
• Scientific exchange with external medical experts, healthcare professionals, and academic partners to deepen understanding of disease areas and Teva assets (e.g., ICS/SABA, AJOVY).
• Build and maintain relationships with national centers of excellence, advocacy groups, and key opinion leaders in respiratory and neurology.
• Conduct Medical Advisory Boards to gather insights that inform strategy and evidence generation.

Evidence Generation & Data Strategy
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and cross-functional partners to support the integration of investigational products into the marketplace with scientific rigor.
• Lead efforts to analyze existing clinical data and contribute to the design and execution of post-approval studies, including Phase IV and real-world evidence initiatives.
• Support evaluation of new potential assets or acquisitions in partnership with Business Development.

Medical Communications & Publications
• Develop high-quality scientific materials, including external presentations, medical information responses, and peer-reviewed publications.
• Contribute to the annual Publications Plan and ensure timely delivery of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts aligned with Teva's scientific priorities.
• Deliver scientific presentations to healthcare organizations and external audiences with clarity, accuracy, and integrity.

Congress & Scientific Event Leadership
• Lead US medical congress planning and execution for assigned assets, ensuring evidence-based education and dissemination of Teva-generated data.
• Represent Teva at national and international scientific meetings.

Medical Governance & Compliance
• Participate in Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR) review of promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with Teva values and compliance standards.
• Review Investigator-Sponsored Studies (ISS) and Medical Education Grant submissions for scientific merit and strategic alignment.

Training & Internal Partnership
• Provide scientific training for Medical Affairs colleagues, cross-functional partners, and promotional speaker bureau members.
• Develop training materials to ensure consistent scientific understanding across commercial and medical teams.
• Serve as a scientific resource for internal stakeholders supporting both early-stage and mature assets.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Medical Doctorate (MD or DO) strongly preferred; PhD or PharmD with significant therapeutic area expertise (e.g., respiratory, neurology, movement disorders) will be considered.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, including at least 3 years in Medical Affairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to uphold Teva's values through ethical decision-making, collaboration, and scientific excellence.

Salary Range

The annual starting salary for this position is between $212,160 - 265,200 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
