AstraZeneca has a broadand deeppipeline of next-generation medicines in Immunology. We areseekinghighly motivated and experienced individualsto support scientific dialogue,driveclinical trialengagementand foster collaborations across AstraZeneca’s immunology pipeline. Your work will facilitate the running of current and future clinical programs across multiple autoimmune disease areas with a focus on rheumatology and gastroenterology. 

The ImmunologyPipelineMSL is afield-basedprofessionalwith scientific, clinicaland therapeutic area expertise, responsible for building externalrelationships with identified and emerging health careproviders and investigatorsand providing scientific and clinical trial support to advance AstraZeneca’s immunology pipeline. You will be working closely with global and country R&D teams, as well as medical affairs teams working on established products, to ensure strategic, cohesive account engagement and a unified external presence.

Key Responsibilities

​Scientificengagement andrelationshipbuilding:

  • Deliver enhanced scientific and medical exchange attheportfolio-level, including Cell Therapy, T cell engagers and other novel immunomodulatory monoclonal antibodies and small molecules

  • Build strong, non-promotional relationships with investigators, study staff and referring HCPsat investigational sites and key scientific centersto support active and planned AZ-sponsored immunology trials. 

  • Identifystakeholders and opportunities for engagement and collaborations with R&D and medical affairs 

  • Educate clinical trial sites and referring physicians on AZ’s immunology portfolio and study designs to enhance understanding ofobjectivesand drive clarity inpatient identification acrossmultipleAZ studies.

Sitestrategy,feasibilityand trial enrolment: 

  • Mapandengage disease, community, and investigator networks; identifynew sites and referral pathways. 

  • Support feasibility by assessing patient pools, standard-of-care patterns, competing trials and operational capabilities.

  • Obtain,synthesizeand share insights with R&D to inform protocol design, site strategy, and recruitment tactics.

  • In collaboration withSite Management and Monitoring (SMM),proactively explore enrolment and screening barriers and support clinical trial recruitment and retention; collaborate with clinical operations to identifyand facilitateresolution of investigator site issues.

Essential Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline e.g., MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA-C.

  • Minimum of 2 yearsfield medical experience e.g. MSL or Clinical Trial Liaison role and/or minimum of 2 years clinical trial research experience within an academic, healthcare system or industry setting.

  • Demonstratedexcellence in scientific communicationacross different audiences. Proficiency in developing and maintaining medical scientific expertise.

  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment

  • Ability to travel 50–70% of the time (percentage varies with geography).

Desirable Requirements 

  • Experience in rheumatology, gastroenterology or neurology 

  • Experience with clinical research and study site logistics, including GCP/ICH familiarity 

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry, regulatory environment, clinical or preclinical research 

  • Entrepreneurial and future-forward mindset, with demonstrated ability to build advocates and momentum in complex trial ecosystems. 

  • Track record of successful network building or shaping treatment environment 

  • Experience mapping disease/community networks and facilitating patient referrals through advocacy connectivity
