- 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
- Sunday night through Thursday Night Shift

- Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- MLS(ASCP) certification,
- Previous clinical experience in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis/body fluids
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality control and quality assurance principles.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and routine maintenance.
- Ability to work as a team member and effectively complete assignments.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions.
- Ability to accurately perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing.
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus

What does a typical day look like for the Medical Laboratory Scientist?You will:
- Perform a full range of laboratory testing using manual and automated methods, evaluate results, and resolve testing issues using scientific principles.
- Evaluate and resolve problems with specimen collection and processing, maintain and document equipment performance, and perform calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Perform and document quality control and assurance activities, adhere to biosafety and biosecurity regulations, and identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to inquiries about test methods and results, interpret findings, and recommend follow-up testing.
- Verify, edit, and enter laboratory data into the LIS, recognize and report critical values, and fully document communication.
- Evaluate and implement new techniques and procedures, communicate effectively with healthcare staff, and provide guidance based on laboratory principles.
- Organize work to meet deadlines, properly process and validate specimens, and ensure accurate labeling and specimen integrity.
- Process, package, and ship reference laboratory specimens in compliance with regulatory requirements, document test orders, meet shipment deadlines, and report critical values per policy.
- Support operations by reviewing, scanning, processing, and documenting specimens and manifests.
What qualifications do you look for?You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- MLS(ASCP) certification,
- Previous clinical experience in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis/body fluids
- Knowledge of policies and procedures of clinical laboratory testing.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality control and quality assurance principles.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and routine maintenance.
- Ability to work as a team member and effectively complete assignments.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions.
- Ability to accurately perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing.
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus
