What we are looking for:VML's Medical Affairs team seeks a highly experienced and motivated Medical Director with a deep understanding of science, medicine, and scientific communication. This role requires expertise in creating scientific content for healthcare professionals (physicians and scientists). The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be proactive, adaptable, and able to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment. They will excel at connecting meaningfully with colleagues and clients, inspiring creativity within their team, and approaching challenges positively.
What You'll Do:- Provide medical direction for multiple accounts, potentially across various therapeutic areas.
- Independently design, prepare, and review analytical research and disease state-focused materials.
- Research various therapeutic areas and create concise briefs.
- Develop medical and scientific content, including publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts) and educational slide decks.
- Deliver scientific and strategic insights and guidance to clients.
- Quickly acquire knowledge of new disease states and drug information.
- Participate in new business pitches.
- Present to clients and healthcare practitioners.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high quality.
- Collaborate with medical faculty.
- Independently manage client relationships and fulfill requests.
- Travel to client meetings and conferences (up to 25% of the time).
- Maintain high-quality work standards in a demanding environment.
- Adhere to publication guidelines and prepare manuscripts accordingly.
- Explain complex scientific information clearly and simply.
- Mentor and supervise junior scientific staff.

- Willingness to travel (up to 25% of the time).
- Candidates will complete a writing test before interviewing.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. $75,000-$180,000 USD
