Medical Director / Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for a new inpatient behavioral health hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This is an opportunity to play an integral role in the development and growth of a new psychiatric program. The hospital will initially operate in deemed status with a limited patient census during its early operational phase, with plans to expand to a 70+ bed inpatient behavioral health facility.

The Medical Director will combine direct inpatient psychiatric care with clinical leadership and oversight as the program grows.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing patient assessments
Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
Manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response to treatment
Serve as Medical Director and provide clinical leadership for the psychiatric program
Provide clinical oversight and guidance to physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the treatment team
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other behavioral health professionals
Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
Assist with development and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and standards
Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and performance initiatives
Collaborate with facility leadership as the hospital expands its services and patient census
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
