Are you a mission-driven psychiatrist looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact? Devereux Georgia is seeking a dynamic Medical Director to lead psychiatric services for a highly respected residential treatment program serving vulnerable youth with complex behavioral health needs. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise, strategic leadership, and innovation while helping children and adolescents achieve brighter futures.

 

As a key member of the Georgia leadership team, you will have the ability to directly influence treatment outcomes, shape program development, mentor clinical staff, and drive psychiatric care delivery within one of the nation's leading nonprofit behavioral healthcare organizations.

 

In This Role, You Will:

  • Initially focus on evaluating and strengthening clinical teaming and case review processes, enhancing outcomes and predictive analytics, and implementing evidence-based practices, including Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Provide leadership and oversight of psychiatric, clinical, nursing, and medical services.
  • Directly supervise the Director of Nursing and Clinical Director.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
  • Review admissions, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
  • Collaborate with families, guardians, referral sources, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
  • Lead quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives.
  • Develop and advance innovative treatment programs for youth with complex behavioral health needs.
  • Participate in physician on-call responsibilities and provide clinical consultation as needed.
  • Serve as a key member of the Georgia leadership team, helping shape the future of behavioral healthcare at Devereux Georgia.
Qualifications- Board Certified or Board-Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with current Georgia Licensure- Minimum of five years experience, preferably in a health care, human service, or education setting, in a position-related function.  Our Ideal Candidate:- Ability to collaborate, lead teams, provide direction and integrate inter-disciplinary treatment approach.- Systems oriented thinker, customer focused.- Ability to balance leadership/administrative and direct client care (50%).- Experience managing psychiatry team, implementation of clinical best practices and program development.
