About this PositionThe Medical Director will lead the medical team within University Health Services (UHS), providing comprehensive primary and urgent care services while overseeing medical operations. This position is responsible for ensuring high standards in patient care, workflow efficiency, and team cohesion in alignment with UHS mission and vision. Collaborate with UHS leadership to foster a cohesive, team-oriented environment. Oversee the organization, management, and supervision of medical staff and programs, ensuring adequate staffing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and quality standards in patient care, safety, and infection control. Manage medical staff performance by providing periodic feedback, and conducting annual reviews. Encourages medical staff professional growth, through continuing medical education (CME) initiatives to maintain credentialing standards. Responsible for providing primary and urgent care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, and treating. Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive health care, to improve their overall health and outcomes. Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients. Collaborate with other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, clinical staff, and nonclinical staff to form an efficient and high performing medical team. Perform all duties and functions in strict compliance of the clinic's policy and procedures, and all applicable federal, state, local, and regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance by support staff. Adhere to ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested. Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws. Maintain accurate records which are confidential, up to date, legible and ensure that all given care is documented. Exhibits knowledge of evaluation and management (E&M) coding guidelines and demonstrates appropriate application of those guidelines as evidenced by correct E&M coding. Adhere to University Health Services productivity standards and meet at least the minimum requirement of key performance indicators (KPIs) as determined by leadership annually. Demonstrates a regular and punctual attendance pattern.
Required Qualifications- M.D./D.O.
Medical
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) - Board certified graduate of an accredited U.S. medical school - MD or DO. Completion of an accredited three-year residency in an appropriate specialty. Three years experience supervising other physicians.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:Must currently hold Oklahoma medical license, DEA license and Oklahoma BNDD or be able to obtain prior to beginning work. Board certification in an appropriate specialty is required. Must maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.
