Job DescriptionSUMMARY:Reporting to the Programming Director, the Media Manager manages NJ PBS's media asset management (MAM) system and digital archive, ensuring all broadcast, digital, and archival content is properly ingested, cataloged, stored, and retrieved. The Media Manager serves as the technical and operational hub for all media assets across production and distribution workflows.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Administer and maintain the NJ PBS media asset management (MAM) system.
- Oversee ingest of all content from field, studio, and partner organizations.
- Manage storage infrastructure including nearline and archive tiers.
- Develop and enforce media retention and deletion policies.
- Fulfill internal media requests from producers, editors, and news staff.
- Coordinate with PBS National on content delivery technical requirements.
- Manage external media requests for licensing of NJ PBS archive content.
- Coordinate with IT and engineering on storage capacity planning and system updates.
- Ensure proper format compliance for broadcast delivery, streaming, and archiving.
- Manage digitization projects for legacy or archival content.
- Train production and newsroom staff on MAM system procedures.
- Support rights tracking for content in the MAM system.
- Develop and enforce metadata standards and cataloging protocols.
- Adhere to NJ PBS editorial standards and public media ethics guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in information technology, communications, broadcasting or a related field.
- Three years of professional experience managing media asset management (MAM) or digital asset management (DAM) systems.
- Proficiency with broadcast file formats and technical delivery specifications for broadcast and streaming
PREFERRED:- Experience with specific MAM platforms (Dalet, Avid Interplay, or equivalent) in a broadcast or production environment.
- Knowledge of archival standards and digital preservation practices.
- Experience at a public media or broadcast television organization.

Salary Range$76,486.40-$95,599.98 Annually
