ScopeMain FunctionsTechnicians are assigned to perform maintenance work. The technician may be an ExxonMobil employee or contractor resource and typically reports to a supervisor.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Estimate workloads and establish completion dates.
- Assist mechanical engineers with the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment and machinery, including engines, instruments, controls, robots and machines.
- Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
- Actively participate in the use of all required on-the-job safety tools.
- Review job packs.
- Identify safety issues associated with each job and ensure they are removed or mitigated before beginning work.
- Execute work as planned.
- Record technical history as required by the workgroup, including Global Reliability Tool (GRT) records, data sheets and related documentation.
- Provide feedback to the Execution FLS regarding job-pack improvements.
- Request permits and notify the supervisor if a permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.
Skills and Qualifications- Discipline-appropriate certification, if applicable, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely describe field conditions and recommend remediation steps.
- Effective team player who can work with individuals over whom they have no direct authority and is willing to assist others.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and frequent changes in priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
