Dematic Canada is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Canadian Mechanical Engineering team! The Mechanical Engineering team performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives while on multi-discipline project teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering projects through to completion, building relationships with customers, and undertaking opportunity in a growing industry and team!
Tasks and Qualifications:This is What You Will Do in this Role:- Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software
- Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and appropriate follow-up
- Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
- Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design
- Identify and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations
- Project Engineering and Commissioning at customer sites
- Communicate, train, and work with customer for final system design
- Travels up to 25% to different customer locations/Dematic locations
What We are Looking For:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree maybe substituted for experience
- Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
- Experience in Material Handling/automation industry
- Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation)
- Strong communication skills/presentation skills
- Ability to effectively delegate
- Understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions
- Able to lead multiple small or mid-sized projects.
