Reporting to the Operations Manager, or their designate. The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for managing and overseeing all Edmonton/Fort Saskatchewan, AB field construction among various trades on projects or across a portfolio of work including planning, organizing, directing and controlling various aspects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Manage and provide leadership for health, safety, environment, and quality programs and policies
- Assist Project Manager or Division Manager in the planning of assigned projects
- Executes plan and evaluates schedules and site personnel to ensure project objectives are met
- Provides leadership to Foreman(s) and prioritizes work accordingly
- Oversees site safety and quality control personnel
- Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
- Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships
- Monitor job costing, reporting, forecasting, and productivity
- Oversee field administration: timesheets, project reports, and material purchases
- Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
- Read and interpret reports, such as job cost, labour, projection sheets, and PO entries
- Acts as brand ambassador for Black & McDonald
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- Trade Qualification and/or have a Technical Diploma to complement 10+ years of field experience
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- 10+ years of field experience in Industrial Construction (Mechanical and Sheet Metal experience is an asset)

- Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)
