Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our MEP team! This is an opportunity to expand the Engineering team's presence in either our Houston or Fort Worth office and help shape the future of a growing, forward-thinking organization.

An ideal candidate has an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas and plays a critical role in delivering high-performing projects from concept through construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the mechanical engineer of record on their assigned projects.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to refine and implement design and modeling standards and best practices.
  • Provide final quality control (QA/QC) review of electrical construction documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Develop and edit electrical specifications based on project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to mentor and develop electrical designers and project managers.
  • Serve as a primary backup to leadership including:

o Supporting and leading department meetings.

o Performing final QA/QC reviews.

o Assisting with production resource planning and coordination across teams.

o Defining electrical scope for new project opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas is required, with the ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in designing electrical systems within either MEP or AEC industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit required.
  • Experience with Education, Civic, and/or Healthcare projects preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with architects, owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication.
