Mechanical Lead to support client operations in
Rayville, Louisiana. Role purpose is to provide discipline leadership over all mechanical scope for a CCGT project (CTG, HRSG, STG and BOP systems), ensuring work is planned, installed, inspected, tested, and turned over per contract, codes, and project procedures, from construction through mechanical completion and commissioning support.
Responsibilities- Lead oversight of all mechanical scope across CCGT systems including CTG, HRSG, STG, and balance of plant (BOP) systems
- Review and approve EPC mechanical deliverables throughout the J.E.D.I. lifecycle (IFR/IFRC, IFD, IFP, IFF, IFC) and ensure field execution aligns with IFC drawings
- Plan and execute shop and field inspections, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards
- Manage quality processes including NCRs and CARs, driving resolution and preventing recurrence
- Coordinate punch list development, tracking, and closure; perform trend analysis on quality issues
- Validate mechanical progress and milestone completion for reporting and payment applications
- Act as the primary mechanical interface with EPC superintendents, QA/QC, and project stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, permits, and applicable codes while maintaining effective collaboration
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly reporting related to quality, schedule, risk, and project status
- Partner with HSE to ensure safe execution of mechanical work during construction and commissioning
- Lead mechanical completion, turnover documentation, and system readiness for commissioning activities
- Support commissioning sequences and ensure systems meet readiness criteria
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of mechanical leadership experience on CCGT, power generation, or large industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM standards and lifting/rigging best practices
- Proven experience in field QA/QC, inspections, and turnover execution
- Experience managing mechanical documentation, inspections, and contractor performance
- Ability to interface effectively with EPC teams, QA/QC, HSE, engineering, and vendors
- Strong organizational, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications- Combined cycle (CCGT) project experience strongly preferred
- Mega project experience highly preferred
- Oil & Gas experience with transferable skills considered
- Experience with tools such as InEight, Navisworks, and QA/QC tracking systems
- Demonstrated success supporting commissioning and system turnover activities
- Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments
