The Job You Will Perform (including but not limited to):The Woodyard Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the mechanical maintenance, repair and rebuild of equipment to achieve high reliability and minimize repair costs. The supervisor will provide front line direction to a team of skilled Maintenance employees who will be engaged in mechanic repairs in the mill. Maintenance activities include: directing crew in routine repairs, outage preparation and execution, preventive and predictive maintenance efforts. The crew that this individual will supervise will set the standard for precision work and retain the knowledge of these repair procedures for Vicksburg equipment. The position report directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager. This position will be a PL 11-13, depending on the experience of the successful candidate.
Essential Responsibilities:- Must ensure their team works safely in an industrial environment, and consistently demonstrate model safety behavior
- Minimize mill dependence on outside contractors for mechanical maintenance needs
- Maximize team impact by focusing on precision work and avoid rework
- Coach and manage employees to be in complete support/compliance with Reliability efforts, through adherence to Work Management Systems, Precision Maintenance practices & standards, Root Cause Analysis & Equipment Condition & Monitoring practices
- Communicate and implement fundamental maintenance standards and expectations, audit frequently for sustainability and consistency, and give constructive feedback and correct behaviors when needed
- Establish efficiency benchmarks for repair downtime
- Involved in all daily, weekly & outage planning and scheduling
- Hold meaningful one-to-one discussions with members of the mechanical crew; set clear expectations for both team and individuals
The Skills You Will Bring:- H.S. Diploma or GED, along with 7 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or pulp and paper science engineering is preferred.
- At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance leadership role is preferred.
- The successful candidate will possess substantial knowledge of and experience with maintaining rotating equipment including pumps and gearboxes, welding and cutting metals, heavy rigging, pipefitting, and repair/troubleshooting of hydraulic systems.
