Based in Amherst, Wisconsin, you will support hydropower and turbine projects across North America-helping design, refine, and deliver mechanical solutions used in real-world power generation environments.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude or machine shop experience who is motivated to develop their skills designing mechanical equipment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
• Support the design and execution of mechanical solutions for hydroelectric power and turbine systems
• Create and interpret mechanical drawings, including fits, tolerances, and assembly details
• Build 3D models and 2D drawings using tools such as Inventor, Fusion360, or AutoCAD
• Collaborate with fabrication teams, vendors, and field personnel to bring designs to life
• Apply practical knowledge from shop or field environments to solve engineering challenges
• Travel occasionally to customer sites, including hydropower plants, to support installations and project execution

For This Role, You Will Need:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience working with tools, equipment, or machinery
• Exposure to a machine shop, fabrication environment, or hands-on mechanical work
• Interest and motivation to design mechanical equipment and systems
• Ability to work across office, shop, and field settings
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within North America
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
• Experience supporting hydroelectric, turbine, or rotating equipment projects
• Familiarity with fabrication methods, welding, or mechanical assembly
• Experience translating real-world measurements or field data into design updates
• Exposure to installation support, commissioning, or retrofit work
