  • Translate system-level and product-level requirements into mechanical design specifications and actionable design solutions
  • Perform design trade-off analysis and make clear technical recommendations across product development phases
  • Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design fundamentals to ensure functional and manufacturable designs
  • Conduct structural analysis using hand calculations, SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or similar FEA tools
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers within assigned design or analysis scope

Opportunity Overview

Teradyne is expanding its centralized mechanical engineering capability in Agoura Hills to support next-generation semiconductor test equipment. This team partners across product development to solve complex mechanical and thermal challenges in high-performance capital equipment, from concept development through integration, verification, and release.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will own subsystem-level mechanical design work for complex capital equipment electromechanical systems. This role focuses on requirements translation, design release quality, manufacturability, integration, and verification closure for next-generation semiconductor test platforms used across computing, communications, mobility, and AI infrastructure.

  • Experience with PCBA/PCB interface constraints, electronics packaging, or dense electromechanical assemblies
  • Experience with machined parts, sheet metal, injection molding, castings, and 3D printing
  • Familiarity with SEMI standards
  • Experience supporting platform-level system designs, scalable architectures, or technical mentoring

Success in this role means driving assigned mechanical design scope to closure, making clear design recommendations, managing technical risks, and improving the quality and speed of platform-level engineering execution. The successful candidate will own technical outcomes across CAD, drawings, tolerance strategy, supplier feedback, design reviews, integration, and verification support.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $160,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
