Full Job Description
We're looking for a motivated, mechanical engineer to design key components of a novel, life saving surgical robot. **What You'll Do:** - Design mechanisms for a surgical robot and for single-use surgical tools. - Participate in the entire design cycle, including the development of conceptual and detailed designs for prototypes, pilot machines, and production machines. - Generate specifications, component drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation. - Participate in subsystem level testing including the development and execution of test plans as well as data collection and analysis. - Leverage experience and engineering judgement to rapidly design and produce proof of concept hardware for fast-moving research and development projects. **You Have** - 2+ years of industry experience. - Recent experience designing mechanisms. - Strong mechanical design, integration, and analysis skills using 3D modeling (e.g., OnShape, Solidworks) and structural methods (e.g., beam deflection, FEA) - Ability to work with hand tools and prototyping equipment. - The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. - Excitement for Mechanical Engineering and an eagerness to continue learning. **Nice to Have** - Experience integrating electrical components into mechanical designs (motors, sensors, electrical connectors, wiring harnesses) - Thermal analysis experience - Design for injection molding **Benefits** - Competitive salary, including equity - 401k + company match - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 20 days PTO per year - Commuter benefits within the Bay Area - Well stocked snacks and Friday team lunches
