What will you do?

We are looking for a PVC Mechanical Designer for our Product Variant Center (PVC). This position is responsible for evaluating customer-specific product configuration requests and developing cost-effective mechanical design solutions. The role applies advanced mechanical engineering expertise to support product customization, regulatory compliance, and efficient manufacturing processes while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assess customer requests for feasibility, including cost, manufacturability, and implementation of new product configurations.
  • Develop technical solutions to address application challenges in measurement technologies.
  • Apply sound mechanical engineering principles to deliver practical, cost-effective product solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), and supporting technical documentation.
  • Ensure product designs comply with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., CSA, ATEX, UL).
  • Provide engineering guidance to support manufacturing processes, procurement activities, design verification and validation, and production testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and sales teams.
  • Balance customer, process, and business requirements to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

What will you need to succeed?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation eligible for the same
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Pro/ENGINEER, NX).
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong understanding of materials, including metals and synthetic materials.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in industrial environments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and meet tight deadlines.

Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 77,000 CAD - $ 95,000 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of 10% of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.
