As we continue to expand our hydrogen fuel cell product lineand enter new markets, we are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer tocontribute to new product development, prototype testing, and lifecycleimprovements. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for engineers whothrive in a startup environment and enjoy working closely with cross-functionalteams.
Responsibilities
New Product Development
• Design and develop mechanical andelectromechanical components and systems for hydrogen fuel cell units.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detaileddrawings using SolidWorks.
• Manage engineering files, revisions, andconfiguration control using PLM tools.
• Participate in preliminary, critical, andcross-functional design reviews.
• Contribute to DFMEA activities and riskmitigation efforts.
• Develop BOMs and maintain accuracy throughoutthe product lifecycle.
• Support design release activities incollaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams.
Prototype Development,Testing & Validation
• Build, test, and validate prototype componentsand systems.
• Develop test protocols and validation plans forcomponents and complete products.
• Analyze test data, prepare documentation, andcommunicate results to engineering leadership.
Lifecycle Engineering &Continuous Improvement
• Support fielded units and customer service teamswith troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives and identifyopportunities for product improvement.
• Lead engineering change notices (ECNs) andupdate documentation as products evolve.
• Propose design enhancements that improveperformance, manufacturability, or reliability.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in MechanicalEngineering.
• 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design,new product development, or related engineering environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, anddata-interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communicationabilities.
• Ability to work hands-on in prototyping andtesting environments.
• Demonstrated desire to learn, adapt, and growwithin a dynamic engineering team.
Desired Skills &Experience
• Experience working in manufacturingenvironments, particularly assembly-based production.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 2023+ (CSWAcertification a plus).
• Self-starter with the ability to independentlydrive engineering tasks and projects.
• Knowledge of thermal systems, low-voltageelectrical systems, and common manufacturing materials.
• Experience with design for manufacturabilityacross sheet metal, injection molding, metal casting, CNC machining, and rapidprototyping.
• Experience performing FEA or CFD simulations.
• Experience with PEM fuel cell systems (preferredbut not required).
