The USS department is looking for full-timeMechanical Engineering I,located in Portsmouth, RI.
What You Will Do
Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
Support the factory and suppliers with product integration
Collaborate across multiple disciplines/functions to solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced, team environment.
Validate design fit and functionality by rapid prototyping and/or simulation
Participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
Occasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers is generally required.International and longer duration travel assignments are available but optional
Qualifications You Must Have
Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Ocean Engineering (STEM)
Experience with CAD modeling software
Experience may be obtained through onthejob experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience in the specification, design, development, production and testing of undersea systems and electronics packaging. Knowledge of design for long term submergence, sealing, and corrosion resistance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience on DoD programs.
Experience with PTC CREO and PDM.
Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T experience.
Demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems while working as part of a team

This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance. The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
