Keys to success will be the ability to work effectively both collaboratively and as an individual contributor, along with strong communication skills, diligence, and attention to detail balanced with productivity-orientation.
How You'll Drive Impact:- Support subsystem design and continual improvement of Myomo's robotic exoskeletons, enabling users to regain arm and hand function.
- Make reliable contributions to mechanical and electromechanical subsystems from concept through production, balancing performance, cost, and reliability.
- Develop CAD assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks to transition early-stage concepts into manufacturable designs.
- Interact with suppliers to obtain quotes and assess component manufacturability from a wide variety of sources, including CNC machining, sheet metal, textiles, and injection molding.
- Collaborate with electrical & controls engineers in efforts to develop high-performance portable sensing and actuation systems.
- Assist in prototype construction, critically evaluating performance using numerical and qualitative techniques.
- Perform drafting, tolerancing, and DFM for low-mid volume manufacture.
What You'll Bring:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-5 years' professional years' experience including mechanical design ownership from concept through production.
- Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), design for manufacturability (DFM), and related mechanical-engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and at least one relevant production process, such as CNC machining, injection molding, sheet-metal fabrication, or production-grade additive manufacturing.
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize and adapt when needed.
