Description:

The Client Robotics (AR) Global Operations organization manufactures high-quality robotics for design centers across Client.

It's a fast-paced operation that collaborates cross-functionally with teams across Client worldwide. The Advanced Manufacturing & Quality Engineering (AMQE) team is a multi-disciplinary organization responsible for Supplier Qualification, Supplier development and ongoing Supplier technical performance management. This position reports to the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager.

We are seeking a talented and motivated engineer with a proven track record of implementing Quality Engineering practices to support robotics and automation solutions throughout their life cycle.

This position requires up to 50% travel to suppliers in NA, EU and Asia, where the engineer will be responsible for both quality oversight and hands-on issue remediation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier auditing, troubleshooting and resolving product issues.

Job Responsibilities:

* Review new supplier intake requests and perform supplier assessments (online pre-assessment and onsite audits)

* Identify risks and gaps through supplier assessment and share with stakeholders (Supply chain, Manufacturing and Engineering)

* Drive supplier development by addressing gaps identified in the assessment and ensure supplier is qualified prior to production scaling

* Provide support to part qualification through Material Approval Process

* Take ownership of supplier product quality, review failure data, perform root cause analysis, and initiate corrective actions internally and with suppliers as needed.

* Develop and implement quality processes to improve traceability, supplier management, and non-conformance management.

* Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability in deployment environments.

This position requires up to 50% travel to suppliers in NA, EU and Asia. Candidates must be comfortable working in field environments and using hand tools to troubleshoot and inspect products.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, computer science, or a related engineering field.

* 5+ years of experience performing Supplier Quality and Quality Engineering principles such as APQP, PPAP, DFX, and FMEA in new product introduction.

* Proficient in hardware failure root cause analysis and leading corrective and preventive actions.

* Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical quality issues.

* Strong process improvement mindset for agile environments with a passion for quality.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Ability to work in highly ambiguous environments and make informed decisions in real-time.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical components common in robotics (e.g., robotic arms, control panels, cables, motors, PCBAs, metal fabrication, gears/bearings, sensors, vision systems).

* ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

* Certified Internal or Lead Auditor training for ISO 9001:2015 QMS

* Multi-industry and/or consulting experience in applicable industries (Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Device, Consumer Electronics, etc.). Startup experience is a plus.

* Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standards.

* Experience with statistical data analysis.

* Engineering program management experience.
