The Services Instrumentation and Controls C10 / C35.6 systems engineer is responsible for designing, developing and testing Instrumentation and Control (I&C) platforms and systems that control safety critical functions for the BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. This role requires technical problem solving, requirements management, and effective communication/collaboration with other teams and engineering disciplines.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities- Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
- Demonstrate accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.

- Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE engineering procedures.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 2 years of experience in mechanical design in highly regulated industry.
Eligibility Requirements- For US - This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
- For Canada GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
- For Canada - This position will report onsite to the Markham office 3 days a week.
Desired Qualifications- Solves technical challenges through application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem solving.
- Experience with typical engineering project design methods from requirements definition through confirmation testing of final design.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
